Jack Kennedy - 26-11-2010

It has always been Jacks dream to become a jockey he was 2 years old when he was sitting up on a rocking horse pretending he was in a race.  We didnít think at the time that it was going to become a reality. Every year his Christmas list for Santa always had a horse theme in it he even asked for blinkers one year we asked him why he wanted blinkers because he didnít have his own pony at the time and our answer was they are for myself I will pretend Iím the horse.

Jack is 11yrs old now and all he wants to do is be a jockey on the track he has 13 winners to date of his HPRA career. He received the 2010 champion juvenile jockey award for riding 9 winners on the HPRA southern circuit and 1 winner in Dingle on his own pony A PAIR OF JACKS.

Jack has ridden winners in Asdee, Dingle, Ballylongford , Abbeyfeale,  Newmarket, Kilkee Castleisland.  He was placed in the other four races that he raced in on the southern circuit.

He was in a photo finish in Loughrea in Galway and was placed in the other two races he raced in under the MHPRA(midlands horse and pony racing association).

Jack has had a remarkable 2010 season with 10 winners and four placings one of those wins was the 12 2hhs pony derby in Dingle( a dream for any young jockey is to ride in Dingle the wins are a bonus).

A "PAIR OF JACKS"  was champion pony of the southern circuit with his 10 wins and four places. The yard has had 21 winners this season in comparison to 5 wins last year we have it put down to the decision our son Mikey (TRAINER) took to change the horses feed to STONEBRIDGE we look forward to another successful season in 2011 and hope the Stonebridge keeps working its magic.

Jack will ride up to  the 14 2 hh category for the coming season and we hope he will be as lucky as last year. We have a great team in Mikey Sean Johnny Billy.

Stonebridge would also like to wish Jack Kennedy and all the team great sucess for the future.
